Tap "Add your child first" on the home screen. Each kid gets a colour pill so you can tag fast. Add as many as you like.
Tap "Start capturing". Tap the shutter to snap, then hold the mic and say the sender's name. Release.
After the chaos settles, tap "Review". AI has transcribed names, identified gifts, and written notes. Edit, pick a design, send.

The camera takes the gift photos. The microphone records you saying the sender's name while you hold the mic button. Both are essential to the core feature.
You can revoke access anytime in iOS Settings → Privacy → Camera / Microphone (or Android Settings → Apps → GiftSnap → Permissions).

Voice recordings are sent briefly to OpenAI (the company behind ChatGPT) for transcription via their Whisper service. OpenAI processes the audio, returns the text, and discards the audio. The text transcript is then stored on your phone.
The photo is sent briefly to Anthropic (the company behind Claude) which identifies the gift in 1–5 words ("Lego Star Wars set", "wooden train"). Anthropic does not train on customer data.

Tap into any gift in Review → tap the Gift field → type the correct name. Same for the sender if it was misheard.
On the Edit thank-yous screen, tap any note to edit it directly. Or tap the ↻ icon to ask the AI to write a new draft.
Yes. Tap "Manage children" at the bottom of the home screen anytime.
A photo is still taken — you just won't have a recording. You can type the sender's name manually in the Review screen.
This usually means the upload to our server failed. Check your internet connection, then go to Review and tap into the gift — the Sender field will be editable so you can type the name directly.
